The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. McMinnville Water and Light Company offers a variety of rebates for commercial and industrial customers to make energy efficient improvements to eligible facilities. MW&L offers rebates in three categories: Lighting retrofits, motor replacements, and process efficiency. Past lighting projects have included fluorescent lighting retrofits, mercury vapor replacements to high efficiency metal halide, and high pressure sodium lights and dimming and lighting control upgrades. For the process efficiency program, MW&L will evaluate the facility's equipment or processes to determine if there is an opportunity to improve the equipment efficiency. MW&L will make recommendations for improvements and perform an economic analysis to see if the project is cost effective. Energy loans are also available from MW&L for energy efficiency improvements and are available to individuals, businesses, schools, cities, counties, special districts, state and federal agencies, public corporations, cooperatives, tribes, and nonprofits.
