The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Summary:

Tideland Electric Membership Cooperative (TEMC) is an electric cooperative that serves customers in Craven, Dare, Washington, Pamlico, Beaufort and Hyde counties. Home, farm and business owners are able to take advantage of TEMC's five percent-interest Weatherization Loan Program.

This loan will cover the purchase and installation of energy efficient measures such as caulking, weather-stripping, HVAC measures, storm doors and equipment insulation for existing buildings. Heat pumps should meet the energy efficiency requirements as established by TEMC. Repayment terms vary by the loan amount. If the requested loan amount is $10,000 or more the loan must be secured by a first or second Deed of Trust. Loan recipients must have been a customer of TEMC and occupied the space for at least one year.
