Summary:
Mississippi Power offers incentives to its residential customers to help offset the cost of installing energy efficient measures in new homes. A three-level program is offered to encourage the adoption of these energy efficient applications during construction. The Bronze Level, Silver Level and Gold Level each list energy efficiency standards which must be met in order to receive specified incentives. Incentives increase according to the efficiency level which homes reach. Rebates of up to $1,000 are available through this program. Efficiency requirements apply to insulation, HVAC systems, windows, ductwork, water heating, thermostats, appliances and cooking equipment. These measures must be inspected during the construction phase in order to be eligible for incentives. The program web site contains more information and instructions on how customers should proceed. Call 800-532-1502 for more information.
