The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Thermal Storage Units: $20 - $40/kW
Insulation: up to $300
Refrigerator Recycling: $50
Air-Source Heat Pumps: $240/ton
Geothermal Heat Pumps: $600/ton
Lighting: In-store discount
Maximum Incentive:Refrigeration/Cooking/Lighting: rebate will not exceed 75% of project cost
Equipment Requirements:Water Heaters: 90% minimum efficiency
Heat Pumps: Varies by type
Split-System Heat Pumps: 14.5 SEER, 8.2 HSPF, 12 EER
Package Terminal Heat Pumps: 8.0 HSPF, 11 EER
Geothermal Heat Pumps: COP 3.3
Installation Requirements:Thermal Storage Units must be installed on the Deferred-Load, Time-of-use, or Residential Demand Control Rates
Water Heaters: must be placed on an off-peak rate

Otter Tail Power Company Rebate Program offers rebates to qualifying residential customers for the installation of high-efficiency equipment upgrades. See the program web site for applicability and maximum amounts for certain technologies. Under Minnesota's Conservation Improvement Plan (CIP), Minnesota customers are eligible for additional rebates, including:

  • water heating 
  • thermal storage 
  • demand controllers 
  • adjustable speed drives 
  • appliance recycling 
  • geothermal and air-source heat pumps
  • lighting discounts
