Water Heaters (existing homes): $50 - $400
Air-source/Dual Fuel Heat Pump: $300 - $400
Geothermal Heat Pump: $1,500
Central Air Conditioning: $200 - $300
Eligible System Size:Water Heater: 40 gallon or larger
Equipment Requirements:Air-source Heat Pump/Dual Fuel Heat Pump/Air Conditioning: 14 SEER minimum

Summary:
Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC offers residential customers incentives for energy efficient heat pumps, water heaters, and air conditioners. Eligible air-source heat pump and air conditioning systems must have at least a 14 SEER rating and can be for retrofits or part of new construction. Qualifying  40 or 52 gallon water heaters are free with new construction, while 80 gallon models can be purchased from the REMC at a discounted price. The geothermal heat pump incentive of $1,500 per system is available for new construction and retrofits. Customers who purchase a geothermal system will receive a free electric water heater (40 or 52 gallon). Members must apply for the rebate within 30 days of unit installation. Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC also offers free CFLs to replace incandescent bulbs in member's homes. Interested customers should contact the utility for more information.
