Summary:

Iowa adopted regulations in 2003 that generally require rate-regulated electric utilities to disclose to customers the fuel mix and estimated emissions, in pounds per megawatt-hour (MWh), of electricity production. Such information must be disclosed to customers annually. This requirement excludes electric public utilities with fewer than 10,000 customers and electric cooperatives that have elected to allow the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) to regulate their rates.
