The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Fort Pierce Utilities Authority offers a variety of incentives for their residential customers to save energy in their homes. Rebates are available for room A/C units, insulation upgrades, central A/C, heat pumps, programmable thermostats, refrigerators, and clothes washers. All of the equipment must meet certain energy efficiency standards listed on the program web site. Window A/C units, refrigerators, and clothes washers must all be Energy Star rated. Applications for the various rebates are located on the program web site. Once application forms are received and processed, rebates will be paid in the form of a credit on one or more of the customer’s monthly electric consumption bills.
