The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Thank you for your continued support and patience during this transition. We hope you are as excited for December as we are!

Summary:

Xcel Energy offers rebate programs for Colorado commercial and industrial customers for a wide range of energy efficiency technologies including heating and custom natural gas incentives. In many cases, Xcel energy will cover at least part of the cost of an assessment, in addition to the equipment and installation rebates. If the customer would like to make energy efficiency improvements that are not included in this prescriptive rebate programs, they may be eligible for the custom rebate program.

Information on incentive amounts and efficiency specifications can be found at the program website; for more information on the rebate programs, customers should contact their account manager.

Custom Energy Efficiency Program

Energy efficiency measures that exceed standard options but are not covered under prescriptive rebate programs fall under the Custom Energy Efficiency Program. Pre-approval is required to be reimbursed for custom measures. Xcel natural gas customers are eligible for rebates of up to $4 per dekatherm (Dth) for approved measures.

Energy Efficient Building Program

Colorado businesses can take advantage of Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB), a prescriptive approach to obtaining rebates for new construction, major renovations and additions. EEB rebates are based on Xcel Energy’s prescriptive programs, such as motors, cooling, and heating. EEB also rebates for approved non-prescriptive (custom) measures which are based on Xcel Energy’s custom program.

While this program is intended for buildings with square footage between 5,000 to 50,000 square feet, any building above 5,000 square feet may apply to the Energy Efficient Building program. Amounts vary depending on equipment purchased and installed.

Energy Management Systems Program

Colorado businesses can earn rebates on improvements to building controls with the Energy Management Systems (EMS) program. Pre-approval is required.

Energy Design Assistance

Energy Design Assistance (EDA) is a free, comprehensive approach to energy and cost savings for business customers who are considering new construction or renovation projects. Xcel natural gas customers are eligible for rebates of up to $4 per Dth for approved measures. The minimum project size is 20,000 square feet (new construction, major renovations, or additions).

Energy Analysis

Xcel also offers engineering assistance efficiency studies and rebates of 75% up to $25,000 that help build a business case for running operations with the greatest efficiency. Contact Xcel for more information on these offerings.
