The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Applicable Sectors: Commercial, Nonprofit
Amount:Central Air Conditioning: $150 - $500 per ton
Heat Pump Retrofits: $175 - $525 per ton
Motor Replacements: $35 - $1,260
Thermal Energy Storage: $800 per KW saved
Lighting: $0.05 per first year kWh savings
Chiller Retrofits: $0.05 per first year kWh savings
Cool Roofing: $0.05 per first year kWh savings
PC Management/Miscellaneous: $0.05 per first year kWh savings
Maximum Incentive:Each incentive may not exceed 25% of the installed cost of a measure.
The annual customer rebate total may not exceed $100,000.
Eligible System Size:Varies by technology.
Equipment Requirements:Rebates are awarded to customers who elect to perform an early retirement of their inefficient equipment and install new products that exceed Title 24 requirements. The Energy Solutions program is for retrofit projects only. All equipment must be new. Used, rebuilt, or refurbished equipment is not eligible.

Burbank Water and Power offers a rebate to business customers for installing energy efficient equipment in eligible facilities. The rebate is offered for a variety of energy efficient measures and technologies, including retrofits for:

  • lighting 
  • HVAC  
  • central heat pump units 
  • motor replacement 
  • thermal energy storage 
  • cool roofing 
  • PC network power management software  
  • custom made retrofits that fit program criteria

Complete rebate applications must be submitted within four months after the project completion date in order to be eligible for rebate consideration. After project completion, a final inspection and verification of the installation will be required prior to issuing a final rebate check. Rebates will be accommodated on a first come basis and limited annually to available funding of commercial programs. If replacing equipment that is no longer operational, rebates will be determined based on energy-savings exceeding Title 24 requirements. Customers should call (818) 238-3638 to be sure that a specific project will qualify. Complete rebate applications must be submitted within four months after the project completion date.
